Happy Times.

I couldn't really think of a good title.

Monday morning Faith had O.T. so I thought since we're out and about we should try to check out some cool museums and things near us that we don't usually think of going to because we live around here so the thought doesn't really cross our minds.

With a massive amount of dishes left to be done, a pile of laundry to complete, rooms to  be cleaned, and beds to be made...I decided it could all wait.

We went to check out Tsa-La-Gi in Tahlequh.  I went there back in the 5 or 6th grade and all I remembered was we brought sack lunches from school. So, nothing at all from the tour/museum its self.  I enjoyed it so much more this time.  Angelus loved going a couple of months ago and again Monday.  We tourned the "Ancient Village" of the Cherokee's, learned a little more about them and how they did things.  We were with two couples. One was an engaged couple about 10yrs younger than me.  They were from Omaha, Nebraska. They came down here for vacation and to learn more about the lady's Cherokee Heritage. The other couple was about 30yrs older than I and from Australia. The man worked in building in Australia.  He thought the humidity in Oklahoma wasn't too bad.  Don't hear that very often.  They were all a very nice group of people.

Here are a few photos of our outing. Enjoy! and hopefully someone who isn't from around here will learn something. :)
We are hanging out getting ready to go on our tour

Still waiting

Almost ready to go

Angelus is sitting inside of a traditional Cherokee Summer home.  They have one for Summer and winter and it takes the tribe 1 day to build both.

Sculpture donated in 2011 in the Cherokee Heritage Center

This was the gate to the "Ancient Cherokee Village" (aka the beginning of our tour).

Angelus fancy camera work.

They moved Seminary Hall over to NSU after this (and I took a huge chunk of my Psych classes there)

What Happened to May?

I attempted to teach Angelus how to play Monopoly. He found it just as boring as I thought he would.

The last of April was the last time I updated, so a month and a half.  I will not let a whole month go by without at least saying *something* on here.  The kids finished up the school year, and have been on summer break close to a month now.  I now have a kindergartener and a 3rd grade bound child.  I can't believe I'm old enough for that to be a reality.

Faith graduated Pre-K, she walked up to the stage (with the help of her aid, not that she has a problem walking or moving in any way but without the extra support she would've just wondered into the crowd of people and not went where she was supposed to), got her "diploma" which actually happened to be a really neat looking doll and these huge package of sweettarts (that she won't eat, but Angelus was more than willing to help her out on that one).  Her aid is gonna be there next year with her which makes us all very happy.  Faith loves her and so do Tommy and I.  She has such patience, a kind heart and does look out for what is best for our little one.  She is one incredibly beautiful lady, inside and out.

Potty training is going about as slow as congress passing a bill that makes sense....
I took her about ever 15-30minutes for 3days straight, in which her response was to not pee or poop for the whole three days.  Figured that couldn't be healthy so I reverted back to her doing her "own thing"....{sigh}

Of course now she yanks her pull-up's off after she's done her "business" OR she yanks 'em off right before and decides that the bedroom is the best place for her to do that (strangely enough her poop is often the same color as the carpet---eww!) so, it can be a bit tricky to get all cleaned up.

Angelus' school had a Family Fun Day that we went to at the end of the school year.  It was fun, really stinking toasty, but fun.  Then on the last day of school they have an Awards Assembly.  He got A/B Honor Roll, but the last half of the school year he got all A's.  The beginning of the school year his serious disorganization played a huge part in his grades not being as good as they should be.  He'd have all his work done, but lose it somewhere inside of his desk and not turn it in.  Silly boy.

So far this summer we watched his cousin play some ball, took the kids to an event where they got to see some neat animals.  There was a hedge-hog, flying squirrel, domesticated skunk, corn snake, ferret.  Angelus thought that was pretty cool.  Faith was a much bigger fan of her daddy pushing her in a swing.

Tommy gets to go be part of a few panels at a comic book convention this weekend.  I think it's pretty cool.  He's a tad concerned he's gonna be way out of his depth in a couple of these.  He doesn't give himself enough credit, often.  He will do fine (I'm gonna guess even...great) 'cause that's what he does.

I've been working with a friend who is getting a degree in nutrition since January(ish)...not quite where I want to be yet, but more okay with my physical appearance.
I'm trying an experiment this summer where I got notebooks for both kids and am writing "journals" to each of them.  Just writing about what we did during the day, my thoughts and hopefully in years to come some words of encouragement.  There is always something neat that happens in each day for each of them.
